Cold snap!

With the new year started I was thinking I should do something with it, and for some reason the idea of starting my own blog seemed like a rather good idea. Why? I’m not sure I can say really, perhaps I just feel like I need some place to post my ramblings, which is what you will likely find here. Can’t say I have any grand plans for this blog at the minute, though I might have a few ideas for it but I shall keep those secret until something actually happens so they aren’t just the mad crazy ideas that they are at present. For now though, you will (if I remember to keep using this blog) see me posting about anything that has my interest, be that the weather (look below), what I’m reading, playing, watching or anything else I can think off.

Anyway, what was this first post meant to be about? Oh yes, I remember now.

2010 has started in a rather amazing cold snap, this weather really is something I’ve never seen the like off before. Here in Northern Ireland may not be as bad as other parts of the UK, but it has still been in the minus celsius range pretty much for the last two weeks.

What makes it rather amazing though in that yesterday the River Bann was totally frozen over, and that it something that I have never seen before, and from what I’ve heard the last time it happened was in the 1960′s and before that it was the 1940′s.

So that’s what it looked like in 1945? Well, here is what it looked like yesterday just a short walk away from my house, 8th January 2010.

Anyway, enough rambling for tonight, hopefully this won’t be the first and last post on here! Lol
